APRIL 29, 2024 — UTSA Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Heather Shipley this week announced a national search for the new dean of the UTSA College of Sciences (COS).
College for Health, Community and Policy Dean Lynne Cossman and Vice Provost for Academic Innovation Melissa Vito will serve as co-chairs for the search advisory committee, which comprises faculty, including faculty senators, and college leadership, staff and students. Executive search firm WittKieffer is assisting UTSA in the search.
“The new dean will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the college, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and advocating for the needs of our faculty, staff, and students,” Shipley said. “We are dedicated to conducting a thorough and transparent search process that engages input from all stakeholders, and I am confident we will identify a leader who will build upon the collective achievements of COS students, faculty and staff, and guide the college toward a bold future.”
